Journalist at German Broadcasting NDR
Charlotte Horn was based in New Delhi for two years until 2024. As South Asia Correspondent for ARD (German Public Broadcasting), she travelled extensively across the region. During her tenure, she covered India’s general election – the largest democratic election in the world. She reported on the G20 Summit in New Delhi in 2023, a devastating earthquake in western Afghanistan, the impacts of extreme climate change in Nepal, and the Gen Z-led uprising in Bangladesh.
Charlotte is now back in Hamburg, where she works for NDR (North German Broadcasting), primarily producing the daily storytelling podcast 11KM: der tagesschau-Podcast. She is also involved in the development and production of other podcast formats.
Before her posting in South Asia, Charlotte worked mainly for NDR Info as a reporter, contributing to both news and feature programming as well as the newsroom. She regularly produced segments for NDR Info’s solutions-oriented format Perspektiven. As an International Journalists’ Programme fellow, she joined the BBC in London, where she worked on People Fixing the World, the solutions-focused podcast. For the German association journalists.network Charlotte organized a reporting trip to South Africa for young German reporters.
