Angela Weiß

Freelance journalist

Angela Weiß is a freelance journalist based in Bremen and Austin. In her work she focuses on multimedia-productions. Trained in documentary filmmaking, her work appeared in several  publications such as Spiegel Online, Süddeutsche Zeitung, NDR or Deutsche Welle, mostly focusing on environmental, cultural or social issues. She currently is a news reporter, social media manager as well as video producer at Radio Bremen.

In 2015 she was a fellow of the Robert Bosch foundation's program "Media Ambassador India-Germany". During her time in India, she covered stories on future technologies for manual scavengers, queer arranged marriages, Bangalore's craft beer scene and reported on one of Indias first female surfers. Parallel to that she worked with the online publication The Logical Indian in Bangalore where she focused on sustainable living as well as waste reduction. After her journalism studies at the Hochschule Bremen and the University of Manipal she added a traineeship at Gebrüder Beetz Filmproduktion in Hamburg.
