The Indo-German Media Network will debut at re:publica 2024 in Berlin on 27 May. Attendance includes some of the most influential names in German politics, global technology thought leaders, and media representatives. The theme for the year is ‘Who cares?’

After a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus, the Indo-German Media Network organized a meetup for its alumni in December 2022 in New Delhi. The event was divided in three parts: an interactive workshop, a panel discussion and an informal networking.

In April 2022, we screened the oscar-nominated documentary "Writing with Fire". The film follows the fearless journalists behind Khabar Lahariya.

 

The program "Media Ambassadors India-Germany" by the Robert Bosch Foundation was the starting point of the IGMN. After five years into the program the fellowship "Media Ambassadors India-Germany" ended in 2019 with a wonderful final event. Check out some great images.

Our webinar series was a sequence of five sessions focusing on the climate crisis with experts from different countries. We discussed issues like climate and health, climate and migration as well as fact-checking while doing climate stories.

In our second webinar series in 2018 we discussed new populism and threats to democracy in the digital age. But as well we talked about best practices from Europe, India and China concerning digitalization and civil society.

In 2017 we started our first webinar series. We then already used Zoom, long before the corona pandemic hit the world. The five webinars focused on data with a very practical approach.

On November 10th 2017 we organized a panel discussion on "India and Germany - a new climate leadership and the quest for renewable energy" in the context of India Week Hamburg.
