G Sampath

Social Affairs Editor at The Hindu

G Sampath is a writer and journalist based in Delhi. He is currently the social affairs editor at The Hindu, where he also hosts the In-Focus series of current affairs podcasts, curates the Evening Wrap newsletter, and pens the satirical Sunday column 'Allegedly'.

He was previously a columnist for Livemint. He was part of the launch team of Daily News and Analysis (DNA) in Mumbai and served as its literary editor from 2005 to 2012. His published books include How to Make Enemies and Offend People (Penguin-Viking, 2013), a collection of non-fiction humour, and Autoplay (HarperCollins, 2017), a book of short stories. In the summer of 2016, as a Robert Bosch Media Ambassador in Germany, he wrote on the refugee crisis in Europe. He has studied English Literature at Loyola College, Chennai and at the University of Hyderabad.
