Journalist Focus South Asia

Natalie Mayroth divides her time as a journalist between India and Germany. From India she has been reporting since 2017. To Asia she came in 2016 through the "Media Ambassador China-Germany" programme initiated by the Robert Bosch Foundation. In the following year she received the Media Ambassador India-Germany Fellowship, where she worked with the Indian newspaper The Hindu in Mumbai.

She regularly contributes to Berlin-based taz.die Tageszeitung from India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Overall, she has worked with various media outlets and institutions like Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung, Deutsche Welle, Deutschlandfunk, die Presse (Austria), Goethe Institute, JETZT, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, SRF, VICE and ZDF among others. Natalie Mayroth is of German-Iranian origin. She was a fellow of the European Journalism Center as well. In India, she knows the metropolis of Mumbai the best and loves coffee from Karnataka, Chikmagalur the most.

She is member of the executive board of the Indo-German Media Network since 2021.
