Christina zur Nedden
Freelance Asia Correspondent
Christina zur Nedden has been reporting as a freelance Asia correspondent for WELT, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Deutsche Welle, Salzburger Nachrichten, and other German-language media outlets since 2020. Her reporting has taken her to India, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand, Australia, the Maldives, and beyond.
Her main focus is the geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific and its implications for global politics. She also occasionally reports on culture, environmental issues, and travel.
Prior to her work in Asia, she was Head of Homepage at WIRED Germany and Watson.de, and served as Germany tech correspondent for the Financial Times.
Christina holds a Master’s degree in Global Politics with a focus on China from the London School of Economics and studied journalism at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). She is currently writing a non-fiction book on China’s systemic competition with the West. She is based in Singapore.
